Brief Biography: Obituary from St Joseph News-Press and Fox KNPN posted: Monday, December 16, 2013 12:00 am Louise Carder Wilcox of St. Joseph passed away on December 12, 2013, surrounded by family at her home. Louise, a life-long St. Joseph resident, was born on March 11, 1926. She was the daughter of Marshall Lee and Marguerite Motter Carder. Louise married Charles Wilcox on January 31, 1948, who passed away in August 21013. Louise was a graduate of Central High School, St. Joseph. Louise attended Bennett Junior College, Millbrook, N.Y. and graduated from the University of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz. Louise was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church, Flower Society, PEO and sustaining member of the St. Joseph Junior League. She also belonged to Kappa-Alpha-Theta Sorority. Louise was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents. Louise is survived by her three children, Jane (Wilcox) Hibler, Leawood, Kans.; Ellen (Wilcox) Cunat, Baltimore, Md.; Todd Wilcox, Denver, Colo.; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Hibler, Chicago, Ill.; Spencer Hibler, Overland Park, Kan.; Kaitlin Cunat, Baltimore; Kylie Wilcox, Denver; Spencer Wilcox, Denver. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013, where the family will receive friends between 6-7 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith in St. Joseph. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Joseph. Burial will follow at Mt. Mora Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials are made to Christ Episcopal Church, 207 N. Seventh St., St. Joseph, or donor's choice. A special thanks to Heartland Hands of Hope Hospice and Caregivers for their assitance during this difficult time.
