| Epithet: In 1843 John F. Shortridge was the first known burial on land that became Mount Mora Cemetery in 1851. Shortridge, born July 29, 1782, came to live with his daughter and son-in-law and died a few months after his arrival. Kemper buried him on land outside the City of St. Joseph before purchasing the land three years later. |
