| Brief Biography: Mrs. Myra H. Riter, 98 years old, died yesterday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Hamer, 622 North Twelfth street. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Hamer, two granddaughters, Mrs. Mary Greene, of Kansas City, Mrs. D. L. Denise of St. Joseph, and two grandsons, Lloyd H., and Will Hamer, both of St. Joseph. Mrs. Riter was born in Philadelphia, her maiden name being Barry. She had been a widow for fifty-five years, and had lived in St. Joseph forty-five years. Years ago she was an active member of the Patee Park Baptist church, but more recently her age would not permit her to take active part in the church work. Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon and burial will be in Mt. Mora Cemetery.--From St. Joseph Gazette, September 26, 1912, p. 4, column 5. |
