Emma Enger Nelson,89, St. Joseph, died Sunday evening, April 15, 1990 at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in St. Joseph, she lived most of her life with the exception of eight years in Tryon, N.C. She was a graduate of Central High School, and a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia and Ward-Belmont College, Nashville, Tenn.
She was a lifelong member and Sunday School teacher of the First Lutheran Church and Alter Guild. She was past president of the Lutheran Church Women. She was a member of the Ladies' Union Benevolent Association, the St. Joseph Chapter No. 198, OES and the Daughters of the American Revolution. she was a member of the Rainbows and Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants.
Miss Nelson was preceded in death by a brother, Fred m. and a sister, Nora C. Nelson.
Surviving: a brother, Roy F. of St. Joseph; a niece and three nephews.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, First Lutheran Church, where the body will be taken one hour prior to services. Burial Mount Mora Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight, Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home. |
